When your department needs more than materials, we come to you.

Beyond the app, the book, and the figures, Applied Police Resources takes on hands-on engagements for departments that want outside expertise - scoped to your agency, delivered on-site or remote.

What we do

Eight ways we work inside a department.

Every engagement below is fixed-price and tiered by sworn strength. Click any service for the published rate.

01 Police Services Optimization

A structured, independent review of how your agency operates day to day - staffing, chain of command, case flow, and workload distribution. We identify the redundancies, coverage gaps, and consolidation opportunities that are difficult to see from within, and deliver a prioritized set of recommendations your command staff can put into action.

02 Policy Writing & Review

Existing policy audited against current case law, state statute, and accreditation standards, or drafted from the ground up when the need is clear but the language is not. Every document is drafted against the standards it will be measured by - audit, complaint review, and deposition - with the citation trail to show its basis.

03 Internal Form Creation

A unified set of internal forms - report templates, consent and waiver forms, evidence logs, and field checklists - engineered to capture exactly what each case requires. We replace the patchwork of inherited documents with one consistent, professional standard your agency carries across every division.

04 Crime Stat Reporting

Localized crime and activity reporting drawn directly from your records management system and formatted for the audiences that depend on it - command staff, elected officials, and the public. Delivered as a one-time build with training for up to three of your personnel, or as a fully managed program we maintain on your behalf.

05 Evidence Room Management

Property and evidence handling built to forensic and evidentiary standards - documented procedures, complete inventories, and chain-of-custody controls that account for every item from intake through disposition. The result is documentation your custodian can produce on demand - for an auditor, a prosecutor, or a defense attorney.

06 Equipment Procurement

Sourcing support for agencies that know what they need but not where to find it. We identify the right equipment for your operation, procure it on your behalf, and connect you directly with the manufacturers - so the supplier relationship remains yours going forward.

07 Training

Practical, scenario-based instruction drawn from The Investigator's Field Reference and delivered around the equipment your personnel already use, or the equipment we help you acquire. Each session is tailored to your agency's tools, policy, and governing state code.

08 Report Writing & Narrative Standard

The report is the case. We write a narrative standard for your agency, build templates for the case types you actually work - domestic violence, DUI, burglary, use of force - and grade a sample of your current reports against them, so supervisors can see the failure patterns in their own files instead of hearing about them from a prosecutor.

Questions

Frequently asked

We only have a dozen officers - is this really for us?
You're exactly who we built this for. About half of U.S. police departments have fewer than ten officers, and the legal standard they answer to is identical to a major city's. Our engagements are fixed-price, tiered by agency size, and scoped so nothing we deliver needs an analyst or IT staff to maintain.
Is this legal advice?
No. Applied Police Resources produces professional reference and training material. We reproduce statutes, summarize case law, and teach investigative procedure - but it is not legal advice, and it never replaces your agency's policies, your state's current code, or guidance from your prosecutor's office.
How do the figures relate to the book?
They are the same figures. Every one of the 105 figures in The Investigator's Field Reference is available as a print-ready 40 x 27 in digital poster, so the diagram a detective studies in the book is the same one hanging in the briefing room. Professionally printed posters are coming soon.
Is the app on Android?
Not yet. OnScene is iPhone only today, running on iOS 16 and later. An Android build is planned - this page and the store buttons will change the day it ships.
Does the app work without cell service?
Yes. Federal and UCMJ ship inside the app; each state downloads once and then lives on the device permanently. Basements, rural patrol zones, and federal buildings with no signal make no difference.
Can our agency print the PDF figures ourselves?
With the right license, yes. The Agency License includes a single-agency print license - print any size, any quantity, for use within your department or academy. The standard individual license covers the named purchaser only and does not permit organization-wide printing or distribution.
Do you accept purchase orders?
Yes. Email us with your agency details and we'll send a quote and W-9. Bulk and academy pricing is available on the book, the poster library, and app seats.
How does consulting get scoped and priced?
Most engagements are fixed-price and tiered by agency size - see our Services & Pricing page for the published rates. For optimization studies and full manual reviews, tell us your agency size and timeline and we'll scope it and send a proposal. Purchase orders accepted; W-9 and references on request.
